What should new real estate agents do to generate leads? Is that a question you often ask yourself as a new agent? Don’t worry; the fact that you’re thinking about ways to generate more real estate business is a sign that you’re on track to succeed.

Well, to get as many leads as possible, new agents really should be doing a bit of everything. To start, it’s a good idea to try generating leads with a combination of door knocking and cold calling.

While door knocking and cold calling are certainly not the easiest prospecting methods, they can still be quite effective – especially when targeting the right prospects. Armed with a well-honed script, expired listings and FSBOs are two excellent places to start with both cold calling and door knocking. Along with the expired and FSBOs your target, also door knock on 10 houses around each address as well.

Social Media and Facebook for New Real Estate Agents

We all know that social media platforms like Facebook are important tools for lead generation, but what should new real estate agents do with these tools? As you may know, Facebook for new real estate agents is largely based on building and reaching out to one’s sphere of influence (SOI). The goal is to show as many people in your SOI that you are out each day working hard as a real estate agent.

When using Facebook and other social media platforms, share certain aspects of your real estate career with your SOI. When you help a client buy a house, for instance, post a picture and share some details concerning their story on social media. You want people in your SOI to see the results of your hard work as an agent; it will make them all the more eager to work with you.

Using Technology and Other New Real Estate Agent Tips

Experienced real estate agents have the benefit of knowing what works and what doesn’t when it comes to lead generation. Fortunately, thanks to the agents who have been kind enough to pass this knowledge on, there are plenty of valuable new real estate agent tips out there to help new realtors get started.

A tip that will benefit most new real estate agents is to take advantage of one of the greatest real estate resources: technology. One technology that James utilizes to generate more real estate leads is called Cole Realty Resource. This subscription-based service provides real estate agents with the contact information of homeowners in their local area. By using it to not only call the seller of an expired listing, but also 50 – 200 prospects near those expired or recent sales, new agents can boost their success with lead generation.
